The 72nd BAPS Congress runs in person from 17 to 19 June 2026 at University Place, University of Manchester. It is the main scientific meeting for the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and is aimed at paediatric surgeons, surgeons in training, allied health professionals, nurses and medical students with an interest in paediatric surgery. The programme page lists keynote lectures, special interest group meetings, upper GI, colorectal, thoracic and trauma sessions, an NEC Symposium with BAPM, a congenital lung malformation symposium and the BAPS Annual Gala Dinner at Manchester Museum. Abstract submission for Manchester closed at 11pm GMT on Sunday 1 February 2026. The explicit submission routes were oral/poster, poster only and case report, with categories including upper GI, lower GI, oncology, urology, thoracic, hepatobiliary, basic science, trauma, global paediatric surgery and history. Presentation guidance confirms oral long, oral short, online poster gallery plus podium poster and case report formats. Publication value is strong: oral and poster presentations may be considered for a BAPS Congress edition of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, and accepted case reports may be submitted to Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports. Registration closes on 1 June 2026 and onsite registration will not be accepted. Late non-member full congress registration is £705, non-member trainee £510 and non-member AHP/medical student/nurse £380; early non-member consultant registration was £605 before 6 April. The congress is explicitly not hybrid this year.
