The Complete Guide to the BIR Annual Congress 2026

BIR Annual Congress 2026 takes place at The Birmingham Conference & Events Centre on 12-13 November 2026. The event theme is "Optimising Clinical Outcomes with Practical Imaging", with BIR describing a programme built around practical imaging approaches for common clinical conditions, expert-led insight into more complex cases, professional development and workplace wellbeing. The audience is deliberately multidisciplinary: radiologists, radiographers, clinical scientists, radiation oncologists, trainees and industry professionals.

The congress offers up to 18 CPD credits. Registration is open through MyBIR. Public fees are listed as non-member £450 standard or £350 early bird, BIR trainee member £180 standard or £100 early bird, and BIR student/retired member £80 standard or £60 early bird. Member-only early-early rates were available until 2 June 2026, and early-bird registration runs until 1 October 2026. Hospital or Trust payment by invoice/PO requires the BIR event registration form.

Abstract submissions are open. BIR's general abstract guidance requires authors to specify oral or poster presentation, and the congress overview states that oral presentations will be selected from top abstract submissions. Accepted abstracts may be published in the BIR event programme. Accommodation is supported through Reservation Highway and the venue is on Hill Street in central Birmingham.
