The Complete Guide to the Healthcare Infection Society Annual Conference (HISCON 2026)

HISCON 2026 is the Healthcare Infection Society annual conference, running in person at the Royal College of Physicians in London on 23 and 24 June 2026. The meeting is positioned as a leading UK conference for professionals working in prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections, with content for HIS members and the wider infection prevention and control community.

The published programme is now detailed across both days. Day 1 covers surveillance of HCAIs, a year-in-IPC publications review, clinical trials and research breakthroughs, national and regional IPC insights, and advances in surveillance. Day 2 covers sustainability, oral abstract presentations, antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship. The speaker roster includes Michael Klompas, Walter Zingg, Evelina Tacconelli, Colin Brown, Eimear Brannigan, Shona Cairns, Paul McGurnaghan, Hugh Montgomery, Mahmood Bhutta, Sarah Walpole, Catrin Moore, Emma McGuire, Luke Moore and Aula Abbara, alongside sponsored symposia and poster sessions.

Registration is open with one-day and two-day options. Published fees are £320 for full/associate HIS members for both days, £250 for trainee/associate trainee members for both days, and £450 for non-members for both days; one-day rates are £265, £195 and £380 respectively. BIA and IPS members can use discount codes from the registration page. The conference is accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists for 10 CPD credits and a digital certificate of attendance will be provided after the event. No current standalone abstract submission deadline was visible, but the programme includes oral abstract presentations, offered paper presenters and poster viewing.
