SOA Congress 2026 runs from 29 June to 2 July at ICC Birmingham and is the Intensive Care Society meeting for the wider critical care community. The event is hybrid: delegates can attend in person or online, and three-day registrants receive on-demand access to full congress content for six months after the event. The programme includes pre-congress FUSIC and leadership workshops on 29 June, main congress sessions from 30 June, abstract presentations, masterclasses and networking time. The abstracts page confirms that submissions are now closed and presenting authors were due to receive poster timing and presentation guidance in the week starting 4 May. Abstract opportunities include Research and Practice oral and ePoster presentations, The Cauldron themed debate abstracts, Critical Care Tales practice and innovation abstracts, the Rising Star early-career investigator award and ABC of ICM bite-sized educational abstracts. Accepted Research and Practice ePosters are displayed on digital screens, discussed in five-minute rapid-fire sessions and remain available on the online platform during and for six months after the congress; the six highest-scoring abstracts are selected for 15-minute oral presentations in the main programme. Three-day in-person non-member regular registration is £800 excluding VAT, with early-bird pricing advertised until 13 April; the non-member student / trainee level is £140 regular and £120 early bird. The society states delegates can claim up to 18 CPD points live, plus up to a further 20 through on-demand learning.
