The British Society of Echocardiography represents the interests of professionals working across the entire field of echocardiography, at every stage of their career. With over 5,000 members in 30 countries, it is the largest group affiliated to the British Cardiovascular Society and an International Alliance Partner of the American Society of Echocardiography.

Free access to all recorded presentations from previous BSE meetings, BSE Core Knowledge website with online training modules and lectures, MCQ assessment for core knowledge in echocardiography, image library, protocols, guidelines, distance learning modules, and clinical cases
Influence
Members can vote in council elections, attend and vote at the AGM, and stand for office. The Society has a seat on both the council and executive committee of the British Cardiovascular Society
Meetings and events
Annual conference attracting around 1,000 delegates with sessions for both advanced and general echocardiography, social events, and networking opportunities. Various other educational meetings organised throughout the year in the UK and Ireland
ECHO journal
All BSE members receive a print copy of the quarterly ECHO journal containing the latest news, views and case reports. Members have online access to all previous editions. International members receive a digital PDF copy emailed quarterly
Accreditation
Members can apply for personal accreditation in adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), adult transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE), congenital echocardiography, adult critical care echocardiography, stress echo accreditation, and Level 1 emergency echo. Departmental accreditation also available

Membership includes eligibility for reduced indemnity insurance through Partners& (available to those operating within the UK only)
Echo Research and Practice
BSE members benefit from a 15% discount on standard article-processing charges (APCs) for the official open-access journal published by Springer Nature. Members can apply for grants to cover the full cost of APCs, evaluated by Editors in Chief and Associate Editors based on scientific merit (case reports not eligible)
